Welcome to our Youth Basketball League, specially designed for boys and girls aged 6-13. Our league offers a comprehensive, fun, and instructional approach to learning and playing basketball.
Game Schedule: Games start at 8AM Saturday mornings and/or Monday nights.
Schedule Release: The official game schedule will be released on October 25, 2024.
Location: Games will be held at Jefferson Baptist Church 9135 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70809
Game Length: Four 8 minute quarters
Game Style: 5v5
Minimum Roster Size: 8 Players

Winter 2024-2025 League Registration Information
- Registration: Opens September 15, 2024 - October 21 or until sold out
- Registration is taken on an individual basis. Online registration is required.
- Each player pays a registration fee to enter (payable at registration). $225
- Late registration begins October 21. $25 late fee
- Established teams may play as a team. Players much list their coach's name during registration. Coaches must also complete the coach's registration form.
- Baton Rouge Red Claws will place players on teams based on age and skill.
- Buddy Request:
- Buddy requests are not guaranteed, but we will do our best to honor them.
- For ages 10 and up, there will be a skills assessment to balance teams, making buddy requests more challenging to accommodate.
- The timing of registration also affects buddy requests. If one parent signs up in September and another in late October, it may be difficult to honor the request due to rosters filling up
- Sibling Request:
- Sibling requests for players in the same age group will be honored if the registration is completed before October 21, 2024.
- After late registration begins, it becomes extremely difficult to accommodate.
- Jerseys
- Names will not be placed on jerseys, numbers only.
- Players will receive their jerseys by the first day.

Tournament Rules and Game Play
For the safety of our children, tournament rules and game play differ from the regular season. Please see the details below.
Basic Game Rules:
- Double Elimination: Only rounds one and two are double elimination. Rounds three and beyond are single elimination. We will announce which games are elimination rounds.
- Time Outs: Coaches are allowed two 30-second timeouts per game.
- Game Duration: Games consist of two 15-minute halves.
- Running Clock: The clock will continue to run unless the game score is within 6 points. In that case, the clock will stop under one minute in the second half.
- Halftime: There will be a five-minute halftime.
- Warm-Up: There will be a five-minute warm-up period before each game.
- Coach Standing Rules: Only one coach is allowed to stand during the game. All other coaches and assistants must remain seated.
- First offense: Warning
- Second offense: Technical foul (two free throws and the ball for the opposing team)
- Third offense: Ejection from the game
- No Full Court Press: Full court press is not allowed.
Gym Rules:
- Court Access: Only current game players and coaches are allowed on the court. Family members, siblings, and players not scheduled to play must stay off the court.
- First offense: Warning
- Second offense: Immediate removal from the gym
- Behavior: Heckling referees and coaches will not be tolerated.

- Safety Awareness:
- Pay attention to your surroundings.
- Do not cross directly across the basketball courts during games.
- Do not allow small children near the court during games.
- Do not stand on or near the court during games.
- Do not block doors, especially fire doors.
- Child Supervision: Escort children to the restrooms. At no time should a child be walking around alone throughout the building.
